COOKIE POLICY
Dear User,
Wanda Carla Cerioli esq., Law INSiGHT leaders, Viale Abruzzi n. 39 – 20131 Milan, Italy, as the Data Controller of your personal data (hereinafter the “Controller“) informs you that this document is an integral part of the “Information on the processing of personal data in accordance with Article 13 et seq. of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 GDPR” and has been drafted to enable you to understand the use, purpose and disabling of cookies on the Law INSiGHT leaders website.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text strings that the sites visited by the user send to the user’s terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites the next time the same user visits. They are used in numerous ways, such as: remembering what’s in a shopping basket when shopping for goods online; supporting users to log in to a website; analysing traffic to a website; or tracking users’ browsing behaviour. For further information, you can consult the Italian Data Protection Authority’s website http://www.garanteprivacy.it/cookie or visit http://www.aboutcookies.org/
Types of cookies
Cookies may be first-party cookies (so-called “first-party cookies“) if they are installed directly by the operators of the websites that users visit; third-party cookies (so-called “third-party cookies“), on the other hand, concern services external to the sites to which users access, and are often used for advertising .
Purposes and legal basis
Cookies are used for different purposes:
- Technical cookies: these are cookies used to carry out navigation or to provide a service requested by the user such as, for example, registering passwords in reserved areas, recording products in the shopping cart to be able to find them in the next session, saving the selected language, viewing a video, etc. (so-called “navigation/functional cookies“). These are necessary cookies, usually installed directly by the website owner, and do not require prior consent from the user.
- Analytical cookies: these cookies collect anonymous and aggregate information about the number of users and how they visit the website. These cookies may be either primary or third-party cookies and, like technical cookies, do not require prior consent from the user.
- Profiling cookies: these cookies are designed to create user profiles and offer content in line with the user’s interests or send messages/targeted advertisements. As a result, prior consent from the user is required. These cookies may include different categories of cookies including ad profiling cookies, retargeting cookies, social cookies (i.e. social plug-in cookies that will be analysed later) and analytical cookies that are not limited to aggregate statistical analysis.
Duration of cookies
Cookies either have a duration limited to a single browsing session on the browser (so-called “session cookies”), in which case they are automatically deactivated when the user closes the browser, or they have a predetermined expiry date. In this case, they remain stored and active on the user’s hard disk until that expiry date, continuing to collect information during different browsing sessions on the browser (so-called “permanent cookies”).
Management and deactivation of cookies
You can manage your preferences for technical, analytical and profiling cookies directly within your browser.
